Animal Portraits
Taking pictures of our beloved animals is an art
in itself. The animal is usually a moving target and it sometimes
takes a hundred shots to get ten perfect images.
Having a love for animals helps me to sense the mood and personality
of the animal. Sometimes the observer wonders "what in the world is
she seeing?" but the result is often fabulous, like the black horse
looking over his shoulder in a very dark stall with only the window
light on his face.
Sometimes just sitting down and letting the animal feel familiar
with me puts him at ease. It's important to be patient and move
gracefully without sudden jerky motions. If the animal is
comfortable, the pictures will be wonderful. The key to great animal
shots is having the vision, executing the shot, a great background
and the right lighting.
